About SHRA

We are a passionate, non-profit human rights organization dedicated to defending the dignity, freedom, and rights of Sudanese refugees and displaced communities. Founded in 1996 and based in Uganda, we exist to speak for the voiceless, protect the vulnerable, and bring hope to those whose lives have been torn apart by war in Sudan, South Sudan, and the Darfur region.

For years, we’ve stood alongside the oppressed—offering legal aid, psychosocial support, and humanitarian services while advocating for justice and peace. Our work is more than aid—it’s a mission to restore humanity where it has been shattered.
